Systech International Supports the Delivery of World’s Longest Metro

October 02, 2011

The Dubai Metro is now fully operational with HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid  Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai launching the 23km Green Line in a ceremony at the Dubai Health Care City Station on 9 September. He also unveiled the international certificate presented by the Guinness World Records for its entry as the longest automated driverless metro in the world with a total length of 75km.

The ceremony came exactly two years after the opening of the first phase of the Metro, the Red Line.

The Green Line, which represents the second phase of the Metro, runs a distance of 23 kilometers through the old city along Dubai Creek, a densely populated area.

The Green Line is expected to handle 120,000 passengers per day while the Red Line currently serves 180,000 passengers a day.

Systech International has been involved with the scheme since commencement, working in conjunction with the international delivery consortium for which we provided commercial support and planning services on the depot construction, power and signaling works and interface management and contractual support for the civil works.
