Role

SBC is seeking to strengthen its team supporting and delivering to Systech’s clients in Japan and now requires a talented and ambitious Associate Consultant 100% dedicated to Systech who can assist in developing the Japan business through new and existing client relationships as well as taking responsibility for managing and servicing commissions.

You will need to be able to demonstrate a track record of working for a main contractor, engineering firm, or manufacturing company on major EPC contracts.  

As an Associate Consultant with responsibility for business development you will assist in building the Systech brand across the region and by expanding the Systech business with other senior members of the Systech team through business development activities, networking and building client relationships.  

You will have a proven ability in a lead role which included implementing new procedures and strategies together with an understanding of claims and dispute related work.

This is a consultancy role and you must therefore be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a client facing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Establish new business opportunities with Japanese client base
  • Client presentations on Systech services
  • Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing clients
  • Provide advice and recommendations to clients on the services Systech are able to provide
  • To work with commercial and claims teams
  • Develop commercial strategies and lead on contractual negotiations
  • To ensure services are delivered in accordance with the terms of appointment
  • Responsibility for management account preparation and liaison with senior management
  • Involved in fee earning work which is likely to include advice on commercial matters and working with Systech’s Global multidisciplinary teams in the preparation of claims
  • Training preparation and presentation

Individual

  • Japanese national
  • Japan based
  • BSc (Hons) in construction or engineering degree
  • Minimum five years international experience
  • EPC contract experience
  • Interested in working with a multinational consultancy in Japan
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Presentable and articulate
  • Excellent organiser with proven time management skills
  • Fluent Japanese and English – oral and written
