Systech have several exciting opportunities available to Delay Analysts who are interested in working on a rotational basis in Japan. The role will be based in our Yokohama office (Approximately 30 minutes from Tokyo) with regional travel occasionally required.

As a Delay Analyst, you will be responsible for providing clients with effective claims advice, based on detailed and thorough forensic examination and analysis of project information and data.

This is a consultancy role and you must therefore be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a client facing environment.


  • To take responsibility for the delivery of professional assignments
  • Knowledge of all project planning techniques
  • To carry out ‘live’ planning assistance where necessary
  • Carry out delay analysis autonomously
  • Assist in the quantification of delay and establishing entitlement
  • Supporting major claims and knowledge of dispute resolution
  • To present findings to colleagues and clients


  • Must be degree qualified in a construction related subject with at least 10 years in construction or engineering and having prior experience as a Delay Analyst/Claims Planner
  • Able to work Single Status on an 11 & 2 rotation (working 11 weeks on and 2 weeks off, rotating back to the UK)
  • Have a strong interest in working throughout the Far East in the dispute field for a British company
  • A sound understanding of current construction methodologies
  • Full understanding of the various delay analysis methods
  • Good knowledge of contract conditions and law within the construction industry
  • Good working knowledge of a variety of planning software & excellent P6 skills
  • Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills; An excellent organiser with proven time management skills
  • Presentable and articulate
  • Be flexible to travel across the region
  • UK passport holders preferred (preferable for foreign worker visa requirements) Other nationalities will be considered (visa restrictions may apply in some locations)
  • Be able to demonstrate a successful career to date in claims and dispute related work including various methods of forensic delay analysis
  • Excellent health record
