FIDIC Contract Training Programme
Systech was appointed to provide a bespoke training programme for the Thermal Power Division which is working on two major power plant projects in South Africa. The objective of the two day programme was to provide the attendees with an overview of FIDIC and, in particular, the provisions for claims. The programme was also designed to support our client’s philosophy; take a fair and reasonable approach to commercial management and claims preparation, to avoid confrontation and to create the best environment for negotiation with the customer.
We provided our client with a dedicated trainer from our senior management team. A timetable for the programme was agreed along with a structure for the content - a combination of tuition and workshops in short interactive and practical sessions to aid learning.
The course content was prepared by the trainer in combination with our project based staff, as well as input from our client. The content was presented to our client and their comments incorporated in the course materials.
The programme was delivered to over 50 personnel across three locations.
The topics covered include:
- Introduction to FIDIC
- Implications of project amendments to the standard form
- Notices and claims procedure
- Grounds to claim
- Claims for delay
- Claims for additional payment
- Dispute process
