Sostanj Thermal Power Plant

The Šoštanj Thermal Power Plant generates around one third of the energy in Slovenia with an average annual electricity production ranging from 3,500 and 3,800 GWh, using a combination of coal and natural gas. The plant was upgraded with the construction of a 600 MW super critical, lignite-fired steam turbine power plant and associated cooling tower, stack, flue gas desulphurisation, wastewater treatment and control systems and connection to an existing substation.

Systech was appointed by the EPC contractor to carry out contract management and claims services from procurement through to the engineering and construction phases.

At procurement stage we carried out a bid review, negotiated the terms and conditions and compiled the contract documents for major subcontract packages. During the execution stage we submitted variation proposals, prepared claims for extension of time and the settled subcontract final accounts and claims.
