Systech appointed by Metrolinx on framework agreement

Metrolinx, the Crown Agency of the Government of Ontario that manages and integrates public transport in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, has appointed Systech to provide commercial and claims management services on a new framework agreement following a competitive procurement. The services are wide ranging and include commercial, claims, forensic scheduling, policies, negotiation and new procurement.

Systech has been working with Metrolinx since 2018 and this appointment will allow us to continue to provide high quality support to Metrolinx. We have become a trusted advisor to Metrolinx by instilling our proactive philosophy; early project advice and due diligence to ensure robust contractual terms from the outset combined with a preventative approach to contract management that aims to reduce claims and disputes.

During our time with Metrolinx we have advised on more than 14 separate projects, contributed key talent to the central claims group, deployed our in-house developed scheduling/delay analysis tools and transferred knowledge and best practice gained from our global project portfolio through the delivery of staff training and upskill programs, creating a legacy of excellence for future projects.

About the Metrolinx Capital Project Group Infrastructure Program

Metrolinx Capital Project Group is responsible for the delivery of capital projects to improve and expand regional public transit within Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and beyond. These include projects ranging from the delivery of Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines such as Eglinton Crosstown, Finch West, Hurontario and Hamilton LRT projects, to Bus Rapid Transit projects, to the GO Expansion programs, to the Union Station redevelopment project and to the Subway projects. These projects are being delivered using Public-Private Partnership (P3), such as Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Maintain, Design-Build-Finance, and Design-Build (DB), as well as traditional Design-Bid-Build and the Alliance Contracting model.

We welcome the opportunity to continue our support for the Metrolinx team and promote the disputes avoidance strategy.  Metrolinx are an excellent organisation and we are proud to be working with them.  This makes Systech a significant global force in government side consultancy services.  It follows our other recent and similar government appointments in Quebec, North America and Australia”.
