Cameron Mills appointed as Head of Project Controls, Australia and APAC

We are delighted to announce the recent appointment of Cameron Mills as Head of Project Controls, Australia and APAC, who joins our Senior Management team in Australia.

Cameron will report directly to CEO and Joint Group Managing Director, Stephen Rayment on all project controls matters in Australia and across the APAC region, where he will be responsible for promoting and developing our project controls services offering to government, client organisations and contractors across the region.

Cameron will also be working alongside David Buisson, Managing Director, Projects Controls, in developing our project controls capability and helping set the strategy for our unique project controls service in supporting clients internationally.

With over 27 years’ industry experience gained in the UK and Australia, Cameron has extensive global project controls expertise with governmental and multiple tier 1 organisations, including AMEC, BP Australia, Baulderstone and Lendlease, in a diverse range of sectors including highways, rail, energy, alternative energy, oil and gas, building, utilities and M&E.

During this time, he has successfully led large, multi-disciplinary teams in writing, implementing and delivering project controls services [planning/scheduling, commercial, cost, change, quality, risk, finance, reporting, stakeholder engagement] on high value and complex projects, with a strong focus on project performance, data management, digital systems and innovations.

He has also managed bid teams and is keen to promote the latest thinking and best practice in project controls services throughout the project life cycle. This has included running staff mentoring programmes and seminars on various project controls topics.

Cameron is a recognised expert in his field and speaks regularly at industry conferences. He was nominated as a Finalist in the Global Project Controls Professional of the Year at the Project Controls Expo Awards, London in 2022, was recently a contributing speaker at the InEight Global Capital Projects Outlook Report in 2023 and is a speaker at the Project Controls Expo 2023 to be held in Melbourne.

Cameron’s previous roles include Project Controls Manager for BP Australia, Chief Estimator for Nacap, Project Controls Manager for Lendlease and, most recently, Director of Project Controls for the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority on the multi-billion dollar North East Link Program in Melbourne.
