Systech is currently appointed on numerous projects and programmes around Canada mainly in the infrastructure sectors.

As the Interface & Operations Director/Manager you will manage the complexity of overseeing the multi-discipline interfaces of railway projects through the final phases of the delivery to the final handover and operations of the railway.

This is a Project/Programme Engineering Management position which is ultimately responsible for ensuring the engineering assurance and quality checks of the projects and that it is fit for safe passenger operations. You will manage the final checklists, documentation and the close-out strategy of the project. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing the procedures associated with this process.

You will therefore be managing the communications of different stakeholders including the client, the design & build contractors, safety assessors, and the appointed railway operators to ensure the project's technical aspects will be completed and handed over successfully for the operations phase to begin. This position requires an individual with excellent communication skills, able to think effectively in a fast-paced environment and experienced in the handover of projects of this nature.

This is a consultancy role and you must therefore be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a client-facing environment.

Individual

  • Project Interface Director/Manager with over 15 years’ experience
  • Strong and demonstrable evidence of a safety based culture/approach
  • Degree qualified in Engineering (or related)
  • Experience in the successful handover of a railway projects and programmes
  • Strong knowledge of railway interfaces including Track, Power, Signalling, Rolling Stock, etc.
  • Experienced in the Engineering & Quality Assurance process
  • Understand of the requirements of Railway Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
  • Experience developing project close out strategies
  • Strong communicator with client facing skills
  • Able to relocate to Canada during the closeout of the project or programme
