Quantity Surveyor

Our team of professionals provides services over the full lifespan of projects – from bid to handover – from our offices across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

The position

Systech is currently appointed on projects around Canada mainly in the infrastructure sectors. Our assignments range from short-term claim reviews to carrying out full and detailed quantum analysis in the preparation of claims documentation on major projects.

As a Quantity Surveyor you will provide leadership to the commercial team, establishing commercial processes and procedures alongside major main contractors. You will have a proven ability to lead and mentor a team, implementing new procedures and strategies.
This is a client-facing role, you must be able to demonstrate an ability to maintain and enhance client relations. You will hold a relevant degree and will ideally be RICS accredited.

Candidate Requirements

• Must have a strong interest in working or already be based in Canada
• Degree educated (preferably BSc degree in Quantity Surveying)
• Will ideally have obtained MRICS status
• Minimum 10 years' major infrastructure project experience
• Strong commercial management and project experience
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships
• Experience of leading teams on major construction projects
• Develop commercial strategies and lead on contractual negotiations
• Able to work Single Status on rotation or be willing to relocate
• Must be mobile and flexible
• Fluent spoken and written French is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

• To take responsibility for the delivery of professional assignments under the supervision of a senior member of staff.
• Supporting senior team members on key major projects
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the contract
• Preparation of management accounts including project cost and value reporting
• Subcontract procurement and management
• Maintenance of project records
• Change management including raising and valuing variations /compensation events
