The Role

The Group HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions with particular emphasis on ensuring understanding and compliance with international immigration requirements in support of personnel being deployed internationally, and in supporting Regional Administrators in carrying out local HR for their regional commercial teams. Reporting directly to the Group Operations Director, this position is one of significance as you will also be deputising for this role. We are looking for a qualified and experienced HR specialist who possess a diverse skillset. It will benefit the chosen candidate to have had prior experience working for a commercially focused, global business that depends on international cross-utilisation of personnel.

As well as managing and overseeing a geographically diverse team, you will be required to draft employment letters and contracts, handbooks, and client and contractor terms & conditions; liaising with local legal representatives when required. You will require an understanding of IR35 legislation, restrictive covenants, and dispute resolution / tribunals.

You will possess an ability to work effectively under pressure, meeting clearly defined deliverables within set timescales. Responsibilities include:

  • Support the Group Operations Director in implementing group initiatives across the business
  • Provide professional and accurate HR advice and coach managers
  • Lead or support in more complex employee relation activities with local legal support when necessary
  • Draft employment contracts, letters, and handbooks
  • Consult business owners on international employment law
  • Draft responses on behalf of the employer
  • Assist with employee and contractor terms & conditions negotiations
  • Tribunal advice and guidance
  • NDA and restrictive covenants drafting
  • Support the integration and harmonisation of recently acquired businesses
  • Support change management across the business as it continues to grow
  • Champion employee engagement
  • Ensure a culture of trust based on open communication

Candidate Requirements:

  • UK qualified Employment Lawyer or individual with equivalent on the job experience
  • Experience in non-contentious legal matters
  • Exceptional drafting skills
  • Knowledge of IR35 legislation
  • Strong managerial qualities with experience managing remote team members
  • A clear and effective communicator
  • Proactive, resourceful, hardworking
  • Personable and collaborative
  • Prepared to work beyond core hours to achieve deadlines
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
