David has a wide range of project experience, from award to close-out, gained in the UK, Japan, South Africa and Australia. He has substantial commercial and contract management experience and has provided advice to contractors, joint venture and consortium partners alike. He is proficient at project control systems, contract administration, commercial strategy and risk management.
He also has significant experience in the preparation and negotiation of claims (both prosecution and defence). David recently led a large team of claims consultants and lawyers providing claims and dispute resolution services on a major power station project and was successful in various adjudications and arbitrations. David is similarly adept at instructing external lawyers, counsel and experts on behalf of contractors.
David has worked in a variety of sectors including construction, oil and gas, energy (fossil fuel, nuclear and renewables), petrochemical, rail and highways. David has a National Diploma in Civil Engineering, a MSc in Commercial Management, a MBA (Cum Laude) from Henley Business School and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
