Contract Administrators/Quantity Surveyors – Sydney and Melbourne

Systech International provides responsive, high quality managed consultancy services to contractors, supporting them in the delivery of complex and challenging infrastructure projects, on time and to budget.

Systech has a 25-year track record of success providing consultancy services over the full lifespan of projects - from bid to handover.

We are looking to appoint a full-time Intermediate Consultant to act as a Contract Administrator / Quantity Surveyor to work in our Sydney and Melbourne offices.

Duties (may include but are not limited to):
  • preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools for budgetary control
  • preparing material lists, producing bills of quantities for tendering purposes and advising clients on tenders when received
  • administering construction contracts, and measuring and approving progress payments
  • assisting with construction claims and dispute resolution matters
  • monitoring changes of design, assessing effects on cost, measuring values and negotiating variations to designs
Candidate Requirements:
  • Must have BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent construction related degree with RICS membership
  • Minimum 3-5 years of major infrastructure project experience and Tier 1 main contractor experience
  • Should have experience of (or have been trained in) the UK construction market along with some international work experience
  • Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills and an excellent organizer with proven time management skills
  • Must have detailed knowledge and understanding of subcontract administration, tendering and procurement processes
  • Must have a sound working knowledge of various forms of contracts including the main forms of Australian Standards and preferably the NEC and JCT forms
  • Mobile and flexible
  • Interested in claims and disputes

 

Salary range $75,000 -  $140,000, dependent on experience and commensurate with local market.  Will include overtime payments, loyalty bonus and relocation costs.
